Roberto Debrincat has decided to step down from his post as Ghaxaq coach and it appears that the thirty one year old signed a six month contract with second division strugglers Zurrieq with an option for a further year.

Sportinmalta contact Roberto Debrincat and he confirmed the move as he’s looking forward to his new challenge. Ghaxaq had an impressive campaign so far and the resignation of Debrincat was a surprise as the Greens are just four points behind leaders Pembroke. Long server Johann Zammit is set to take charge of Ghaxaq.

Second Division Gharghur Fc sacked coach Brian Spiteri and appointed Bulgarian George Draganov as he left third division side Kalkara Fc.

Gharghur currently sixth in the standings also released all the foreigners and a host of Bulgarians are set to have a trial with the club. Veteran Michael Borg Oliveri was also released. The former Qormi striker was on a 1,000 euros salary per month. The Reds have a 6,000 euros payroll per month. Gharghur reached an agreement with Floriana for out of favour Mark Gauci as he is set to sign a contract on Monday and are also interested in Ryan Darmanin’s signature.
