Žilina advance after beating Birkirkara

MŠK Žilina 3-0 FC Birkirkara (agg: 3-1)

With 3 goals coming from Piaček, Lietava and Oravec the Slovaks turned their 1-0 loss in Malta to advance into the next stage of the UEFA Champions League.

It was Jozef Piaček who opened up the scoring in the 21st minute, to tie the matter with a fine header, making the score 1-0 at half time. In the beginning of the second half, Birkirkara came close when Michael Galea missed the target by a few inches. From a rare error by Birkirkara keeper Lovizon, Ivan Lietava tapped in the ball in the 77th minute to make it 2-0 for the Slovak champions.

Tomáš Oravec found time to add a third goal for Žilina in the dying minutes with a dazzling move.
