Five Maltese youth water polo players are following new pastures in other countries and continue to acquire experience when training and playing with foreign European water polo clubs. These young players are Anthony Bugeja, Jovin Ebejer, Jean Claude Cutajar, Dino Zammit and Ryan Sciortino.

Anthony Bugeja and Jovin Ebejer

The two 14 year old San Giljan players, Anthony Bugeja and Jovin Ebejer, were recently on a training camp with the Italian team Bogliasco and Nervi respectively. Whilst Jovin continued to train to improve his goalkeeping techniques, Anthony concentrated more on his defending capabilities when training in the Liguria region. There are good prospects these players will be invited to join the Italian teams again next November.

Jean Claude Cutajar and Dino Zammit

Marsascala SC player Jean Claude Cutajar and Sirens player Dino Zammit are presently  undergoing a six-month training with Serbian Club of Partizan Belgrade.

They will be both under the guidance of the international player Milanovic who is well known in the local water polo scene.

Ryan Sciortino recently left Malta to join the 1st division water polo Hungarian team of Szentes Vizilabda Klub. This is the fourth year for the nineteen-year old lad, who presently plays for Marsascala on loan from Neptunes WPSC, to play in Hungary as he previously trained and played with the clubs of  Honved, OSC and UTE.

Dino Zammit, Jean Claude Cutajar and Ryan Sciortino  have recently been chosen to form part of the ASA National  Water polo Under-19 team which took part in Mediterranean Comen Tournament held in Larnaca, Cyprus.

In a statement issued by the ASA, the Association said that it appreciates all the efforts being done by these young players and wished them every success.
