Two minutes after restart Miguel Pellegrini Petit released Ferry in the area and he missed the upright with Miguel Falzon beaten, and following this action Qormi’s reaction was very immediate as they created three actions. In a Melita action Pellegrini Petit released Gianluca Distefano on the right flank and Miguel Falzon neutralised the ball from his cross, and on the hour Qormi came very close to level matters as Cachia served Vella with a perfect through ball in the area and he missed the upright by inches with Eman Falzon beaten.

Melita regianed the initiative, Luke Bedford served Zammit in the area and a defender cleared the ball to a corner and the same player then released Borg Hedley in the area and Miguel Falzon had to come out of his charge to kick the ball away to safety.

Three minutes before the end of normal time Melita scored a second goal as Bedford was fouled on the left flank and as the free kick by the same player created hacov in Qormi’s area and Borg Hedley managed to score with a hard and low diagonal drive.
