The big crowd present at the Rabat Ground were regaled with a very fast and entertaining game. In another action by Valletta Cassar served Shaun Dimech with a through ball and Vella had to come out of his charge to kick the ball away.

Three actions were then created by Paola. In another action by Paola Mbong released Cassar Jeffries in the area and after Spiteri partly saved his shot the same player missed the upright from the rebound.

In the 47th minute Paola opened the score when Nelson served Manuel Farrugia in the area and he scored with a hard and diagonal drive. The Paolites resumed with their pressing. Matthew Portelli served Mbong in the area and Spiteri saved his hard drive and he also saved a free kick shot by Neil Portelli after Matthew Portelli was fouled just outside the area  and Mbong released Gary Nelson in the aea after dribbling past three opponents and Spitri denied him with a diving save in two attempts.

Valletta went all out to save the day as they threw everything into attack and were denied by the bar on the hour as the ball thumped the bar from a header by Kenley Scerri after a well-taken flag kick by Seychell and Vella had to dive and save a shot from the edge of the area by Dimech after a Cassar square pass.

In the fourth minute of added time Valleta scored the equaliser as Jake Falzon served Seychell with a cross in the area from the right flank and as he was left unmarked he scored with a close-range shot past a helpless Vella.
