The Gozo Motorcross Association organised the quarter-finals of the Yamaha Gozo Motocross Championship 2016/17. Races started at 1pm and the afternoon proved to be an extremely enjoyable experience both for riders and spectators alike.

In Class A we watched 2 sets of challenging duets between Mario Cauchi and David Dimech and also between Etienne Bigeni and Robert Spiteri. Cauchi managed to overtake Dimech after a few laps thus placing himself first, followed by Dimech. Bigeni came in third followed closely by Spiteri.

In Class B Keith Bugeja held on to first place while Godfrey Bigeni  and Matthew Zammit raced for second place. Infact Bigeni came in second followed closely by Zammit.

In Class C Joseph Luke Gauci did well in all of the three heats, and came in first in this category. Veteran Mark Camilleri came in second while the young Matthew Spiteri won third place.

Each winner was awarded a trophy at the end of the day’s hard work. The Gozo Motocross Association will continue its programme with the Semi-finals on the 23rd of April followed by the Finals on Sunday, 14th of May 2017.
