The Malta Volleyball Association has once again organised it’s yearly beach volleyball championships which this year started unusually late on the 16th August, a time when summer starts winding down and the crowds at the beach start to dwindle. A total of 7 teams (made up of 2 players each) across the male and female categories took part, with 3 teams in the female category and 4 teams in the male category.

As revealed earlier by the portal, a number of games were postponed as from the early stages of the competitions, and sources close to the Association have informed this portal that amongst other shortcoming not all games of these championships were officiated by MVA referees.

The official fixtures, which were last updated on the 13th September 2010 and have disappeared from the MVA website’s main page, showed that there were a couple of Walk Overs and also games that had been postponed but were never played. This rendered the competition incomplete, unless other games were played and the official source of information was not updated.

Therefore for the first time there shall be no official beach volleyball champions in Malta!
