The Malta Weightlifting Federation is currently preparing on a number of fronts as a time when a number of other sports are taking a well deserved break.

In fact on Thursday 10th June the national weightlifting team headed by Jesmond Caruana together with Stephen Borg, Emanuel Schembri, Clint Grech and Rodmar Pulis are going for a training camp to Rome for eight days. This was made possible due to the agreement that exists between the Malta Olympic Committee and CONI

An event worth noting is the 2010 ZKC Email International Club Weightlifting Tournament which is being held on Sunday the 20th of June at the Cottonera Sports Complex. This competition starts at 10:15am.

One can also admire the local weightlifters in action on the 25th June during a display at the Manoel Island World cup village between 7:15pm and 8:15pm, in collaboration with the Malta Sports Council.

All these events will lead up to the most important events of the season which are the 38th European Union Championships and the 32th Small Nations Tournament. Both events will be held in Cyprus between the 8th and 11th July 2010.
