Floriana returned to winning ways after beating Balzan Youths 3-1. The Greens now move temporarily to third place with 24 points. Balzan stayed sixth with 17 points from 25 games.

Floriana new mentor Joe Brincat opted for a 4-4-2 formation as Swedish Andre Grabowski partner Ryan Darmanin upfront. Defender Eric Akoto returned for the Greens to partner Thomas Paris at the back.

Balzan mentor Ivan Zammit started an initial 4-4-1-1 formation as Pedrinho played behind lone striker Lydon Micallef.
