Vladyslava Kravchenko’s efforts and hard training have been rewarded when she was selected to participate in the Rio Paralympic Games 2016 this coming September. This news was received a few days before Vlada travels to Funchal, Madeira to participate in the European Open Para Swimming Championships. She will be accompanied by the Adapted Swimming National Coach Isabelle Zarb. She will be competing in 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke and 100m breaststroke against the best swimmers in her category from around the world.

The Aquatic Sports Association (ASA) of Malta welcomed the news. It is a great reward considering the investment by the association in adapted swimming over the past 19 months.

Apart from offering personalised swimming sessions for swimmers with different physical disabilities, the ASA has also invested in their coach’s education and was also instrumental in sending four swimmers to a training camp in Istanbul.
