Obinna Obiefule was the match winner on Monday night as Sliema passed yet another difficult test with the name of Vittoriosa Stars. Mark Marlow’s team now reaches Birkirkara with seven pionts in the second place of the table one point behind Valletta.

Sliema and Vittoriosa battled it out against each other on Monday evening as they played their fourth game of the season. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday but it was postponed due to inclement weather.

Sliema opted for a 4-2-3-1 set up with Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza the only change made by Marlow from their last game (win against Hamrun). Triganza was preferred to James Paris. On the other hand Vittoriosa’s mentor Winston Muscat opted for a 4-1-3-2 line up. Simon Agius was playing against his former Club Sliema with whom he still has legal dispute over matters concerning alleged corruption.

Referee Mario Apap was making his Premier League debut.
