Valletta’s Agius, Sammut and Hogg dropped

National Team coaches John Buttigieg and Carmel Busuttil have just announced  the 18-player squad selected for this Wednesday’s friendly encounter against Finland, which will be played at the National Stadium Ta’ Qali at 1900hrs: - 

Amongst the players who did not manage to make it into the 18 man squad are Veteran Gilbert Agius who is only three caps away from Carabott’s record and Valletta keeper Andrew Hogg. It is not yet know if Buttigieg dropped these two players due to the current dispute between the MFA and the Club or due to tactical decision. Amongst those dropped are also Kevin Sammut and Terrence Scerri of Valletta and Brian Said of Floriana.

Goalkeepers: Justin Haber – Ferencvaros (HUN) Mario Muscat – Hibernians FC 

Defenders: Andrei Agius – AS Melfi (ITA), Steve Bezzina – Valletta FC , Jonathan Caruana – Hibernians FC,  Alex Muscat – Sliema Wanderers FC , Kenneth Scicluna – Valletta FC . 

Midfielders: Shaun Bajada – Birkirkara FC , Roderick Briffa – Valletta FC , Trevor Cilia – Birkirkara FC, Clayton Failla – Sliema Wanderers FC, Paul Fenech – Birkirkara FC, Ryan Fenech – Sliema Wanderers FC , Jamie Pace – Valletta FC . 

Forwards: Daniel Bogdanovic – Barnsley, FC Andrew Cohen – Hibernians FC , Michael Mifsud – no club,  Ivan Woods – Sliema Wanderers FC 

The game will be controlled by Italian Referee Mauro Bergonzi who will be assisted by Mariano Debono and Ingmar Spiteri as Assistant Referees. Marco Borg will be the fourth official. West Stand tickets prices for this match are €8 for males, and a reduced price of €4 for women, children and senior citizens.
