Valletta and Sliema Wanderers shared a 1-1 draw in today’s only encounter at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Valletta opened the score in the second half thanks to a Roderick Briffa screameer. Minutes later Sliema Wanderers meritedly scored the equaliser thanks to Roderick Bajada

Valletta now joined Hibernians at the top of the table with twenty two points from nine games as the latter will be in action on Sunday. Sliema Wanderers had a positive overall performance after two consecutive defeats and now have fourteen points from nine games.

Valletta coach Jesmond Zerafa opted for an offensive 4-3-3 formation as Brazilians Denni Dos Santos and William Barbosa supported centre striker Michael Mifsud. The nippy striker shook off a slight injury as he missed some training sessions this week.

Sliema mentor Danilo Doncic opted for a 4-5-1 formation as striker Jorge Santos Silva was supported by former Valletta star Cleaven Frendo and Bulgarian Daniel Mitev.
