Title contenders Valletta found it hard to beat Hibs during yesterday’s BOV Premier League match. The Citizens were stunned in the 23rd minute when a Hogg blunder put Hibernians in the lead, after the City keeper received a back pass from Cruijff.

A few minutes later, Valletta’s prolific striker Michael MIfsud levelled the score with a fine personal move to send both teams at 1-1 during half time.

The second half saw Valletta pressure the Hibernians defense continuously and their efforts finally paid their dividends as Terence scerri fired home from a Steve Borg pass in the 72nd minute.

Only 2 minutes later Jordi Cruijff secured the 3 point for Valletta and kept their window open on the league.

The player who was voted as BOV Player of the Match is Valletta’s Njongo Priso .
