Valletta Grand Prix Foundation Announce Dates For The Mdina Grand Prix

Now, in its fourth year, the Mdina Grand Prix again promises to be yet another fantastic event, offering local and overseas participants for a weekend of street racing and hill climbing on a separate track, as well as a Concours d’Elegance held in the main sqare of the Medieval City, in which the finest local period cars and motorbikes will vie for trophies with the swelling numbers of overseas participants’ entries.
At a press conference held at the Corinthia Palace Hotel earlier to today, the Foundations’ Chairman Mr. Joe Zammit Tabone stated: “With the backing of local authorities, the Foundation’s events was transferred in 2011 to this new circuit, where it has remained in the two years that followed, growing in stature and popularity, whit the participation of prestige local and foreign vehicles, being well backed by more and more sponsors of repute and attracting ever increasing numbers of spectators, both local and foreign”
Parliamentary Secretary for Sport and Innovation Hon. Chris Agius MP stated: “As someone who comes from a sporting background, I highly value the way sport and recreation contribute to building stronger, healthier, happier and safer communities. The Mdina Grand Prix is a great opportunity for local enthusiast and international participants to share their passion for beautiful and historic vehicles”. The Mdina Grand Prix has become a highlight in the local sporting calendar. The picturesque setting beneath the Bastions of Mdina, Malta’s Old Capital city, is an appropriate setting for such an event. He added.

The Mdina Grand Prix 2014 will be held this year between the 9th and 12th October. As late summer beckons the arrival of the early autumn, the Mdina street track, set in the idyllic countryside beneath will be the host of the fourth successive year the Mdina Grand Prix, promising a magical weekend of classic car racing, with various cultural and other activities being organised for overseas participants and their guests over the preceding days.

0900hrs – 1600hrs (1600hrs to 1700hrs Paddock Area open to general public)
Practice and Qualifying
