League leaders Valletta managed to win against Tarxien Rainbows (5-2) in a entertaining encounter on Saturday evening in match day five of the BOV Premier League.
Jesmond Zerafa opted for just one change from last week’s draw against champions Birkirkara in his initial 4-4-1-1 formation. Dyson Falzon got the nod instead of Nigerian Temile who has an ankle problem. Also ruled out for the Citizens were club captain Gilbert Agius and defender Kenneth Scicluna. Brazilian Denni Dos Santos started for the first time against his former club. Noel Coleiro decided to play Daniel Mariano Bueno as a lone striker in a 4-3-2-1 tactical. Goalkeeper Anthony Curmi recovered from his injury against Qormi last Monday and was in action.

In Saturday’s first match, bottom placed Vittoriosa Stars collected their first point of the season after a stalemate draw against Floriana (0-0)
