Valletta Football Club and Nike, through their local representatives, Urban Jungle, announced today a three-year extension to their long-standing partnership which dates back from the 2000/2001.

“We are proud to continue our association with Nike, the global leader in sporting apparel. We are convinced that the relationship will continue to contribute to our club’s on-field success” said Paul Spiteri, Valletta’s Vice-President for administrative affairs.

The new contract is the most comprehensive since the start of the relationship between Valletta and Nike, covering both the senior squad and the club’s youth sector.

Alexander Fenech, Valletta’s Vice-President for commercial affairs, stated that the club’s association with top global brands such as Nike, and Valletta’s main sponsor Betsson, is in line with club President Victor Sciriha’s drive to instil a culture of professionalism at all levels within the club. “Our goal remains that of creating a financial sustainable structure, through the continued development of the Valletta Football Club Brand,” said Mr.Fenech.

Urban Jungle’s Ian Busuttil said that his company is delighted to continue working with Valletta Football Club. “The partnership has been a very successful one; Valletta’s vision for the future is very much aligned with Urban Jungle’s. We are both leaders in our respective fields; success is well ingrained within our DNA.”

Davide Faloppa, Nike’s International Team Sport Manager, added that it was Nike’s objective to partner with the best football team in every country. In Malta, this objective has been achieved through Nike’s association with, Valletta Football Club, Malta’s biggest football club. Mr.Faloppa concluded by congratulating Valletta for last year’s unbeaten run-up to their twentieth league title, and wishing all the best for 2011/2012.

Mr. Busuttil Valletta are leaders in what? Cups won? Leagues won? FA Trophies won?
Most seats thrown in the pitch? Most fights in the parking lot? Most toilets destroyed?

Mr. Bususttil your DNA has a flaw somewhere… Valletta are no leaders mate!
