Valletta buy Ian Azzopardi for good

Valletta’s President Victor Sciriha materialised another big signing this summer as it is reported that he has agreed financial terms with Sliema Wds to transfer on a permanent basis Ian Azzopardi on the Valletta books. The natural left back player is yet to put ink on his contract but when contacted by this site Sliema President Stephen Abela said “I have been away for a whole week but I can confirm that we have a verbal and gentlemen’s agreement with Valletta to sell Azzopardi”
Valletta on the other hand have loaned their talented Steve Bezzina also a left back to Sliema for the coming season with an option for the Blues to buy the Valletta born player on a permanent basis.
It is known secret that coaches Jesmond Zerafa and Nardu Farrugia well not totally satisfied with Bezzina’s latest performances and so they asked President Sciriha to seek alternatives to reinforce the left back defence department.
The Sliema President confirmed that he is interested in signing ex Manchester City player James Paris but he is yet to meet the player personally in the next 24 hours.
Qormi in the meantime have agreed terms with ex International midfielder George Mallia who will wear the yellow black jersey and will find once again his former coach at Birkirkara Stephen Azzopardi.
The transfer market comes to an end on Wednesday.
