Anthony Curmi, the Tarxien Rainbows goalkeeper, agreed to join Hamrun Spartans on loan.
A Hamrun Spartans spokesman confirmed that the 29-year-old shot stopper will replace Bulgarian goalkeeper Hristo Baktarliev who failed to impress the Spartans in the Ame Cup.
The Valletta born player spent last season on loan at Sliema Wanderers, managed by current Tarxien coach Danilo Doncic, but he had only played a couple of minutes as a back up for international goalkeeper Henry Bonello.
Hamrun Spartans, meanwhile, gave permission to veteran Rupert Mangion to continue his career with cash strapped club Marsaxlokk. The 37 year old will lead the young side as the club are seeking to avoid another relegation.
Rupert Mangion played for Hamrun Spartans and Sliema Wanderers in his glittering career.
Floriana reached an agreement with Sliema Wanderers to take back midfielder Trevor Cilia to the ’Xaghra’ . The 29 year old will join the Greens on loan for the next two years as youngster Christian Grech will move in the opposite direction for good.
The neighbours reached agreement on a deal that would take Geatan Spiteri for 12 months.
Hamrun Spartans striker Geatan Spiteri reached an agreement on a loan move to Qormi FC with a view for a permanent stay.
Qormi have sanctioned a move for the veteran after Hamrun Spartans made it clear that they were looking to offload, either on loan or via permanent deals, some of the fringe players of its first-team squad.
Hamrun Spartans had no problem in allowing Spiteri, 31, to move after he was no longer in the plans of the Spartans team.
Spiteri has privately spoken of his frustration at the lack of attention that he was receiving from Hamrun after he was left out for the Bulgarian training camp. He attend his first training with his new team mates on Tuesday night.
