After losing their last outings, Tarxien Rainbows and Vittoriosa Stars will be aiming for there first win of the season. Last season’s surprise package Tarxien will have to start collecting important points if they still want to repeat last year’s achievement. The Stars will be looking to kick-start their season after an impressive pre-season and welcome back Carlos Emanuel Compagnoli after serving a one game suspension, while Tarxien are still waiting for the internional clearance of Daniel Mariano Bueno.

Valletta will seek to return to winning ways on Saturday as they take on Qormi FC. After being held in a 2-2 draw against Hibernians, the Citzens cannot afford to drop any more important points. Currently they have 4 points from two games with Qormi looking for another good performance after their first win against Vittoriosa.

On Sunday the Greens take on southsiders Marsaxlokk with the former fresh from there much deserved victory against Birkirkara, thus starting as favourites in this clash. It is interesting to note that Peter Curmi’s squad has yet to score and concede a goal this season and both squads have no selection problems.

In the second game on Sunday leaders Hamrun Spartans will be looking to maintaining their impressive start to the season against Sliema Wanderers. Mark Marlow welcomes back John Mintoff, but has lost Clayton Failla for two month and still has Alex Muscat, Steve Bezzina and Rodrick Bajada on their growing injury list. Steve D’Amato does not have any injury related problems to deal with  and will be motivating his men to maintain their good run.
