Marsaxlokk midfielder Trevor Templeman does not want to drop down to the BOV First Division League with the demoted South Siders as newly-promoted Rabat, Hamrun and Sliema Wanderers amongst others are battling for his signature.

Trevor Templeman has already made it clear to the current Marsaxlokk committee that he wants to quit the relegated Marsaxlokk side  in order to continue playing in the Premier League, Sportinmalta.com can reveal.

The 31-year-old former Naxxar player has made it known privately that he does not want to play in the First Division with Marsaxlokk and, while his contract is up, the former Sliema Wanderers star is now hoping that a top-flight club will pay his parameters in order to start his pre season.

Templeman, one of Victor Sciriha’s first buys, last season failed to prevent Marsaxlokk from slipping into the second tier of Maltese football and, having tasted life in the First Division before three years ago, he is desperate to avoid dropping down a division.

Hamrun Spartans are weighing up a move for the 31 year old but his track record could prompt a bidding war.

When he was contacted by this portal, the Marsaxlokk made it clear he‘s set to leave “My contract is up and I set my heart on staying in the Premier League so it looks definite that I will be off this summer, I was really saddened by what happened last season because I had a great rapport with the fans but I’m certain that I’m still a Premier League player and so I hope that a deal will be done that suits all parties’’
