The modest Tarxien Ultras

Tarxien FC have a very organised set up. For the past 5 years they have managed to go from strength to strength not only for the results registered on the pitch but even from an administrative point of view. The same can be said about their small but loud crowd that has been following Coleiro’s team with passion, especially lately in the local BOV Premier League.

I really like the Tarxien Ultras guys. They are well organised, they are colourful and have been expressing great loyalty to the Club President Anthony Cassar and also to the players. I like the way they organise their support. Those who regularly attend the BOV Premier League games can understand my arguments.

The so called Tarxien Ultras are a bunch of 10-15 young boys max who are present in each and every game, coordinating the Rainbow’s support, playing the drums, setting up banners and chanting along with the brass band on important occasions.

I was surprised last Saturday when the Tarxien supporters managed to outclass the well known Birkirkara Ultras who were more numerous but were not affective at all. The game was a thrill in itself with 6 goals as the teams got one point each in a fascinating 3-3 encounter. The Rainbows’ supporters were elated with this result and thus the actual point won against the Stripes and the brilliant performance by their players will definitely boost the Tarxien Ultras to gather more forces and continue to offer disciplined support when their team is in action. Well done guys and keep up the good spirit.

Finally a message to the Birkirkara Ultras and supporters – wake up yellows you are leading the table you should gather a bigger crowd and coordinate a bit more your dismantled Ultras group and old fashioned chants!

Dear Sandro, were you watching another match or what? I do admire Tarxien’s Ultras (yes Ultras, because are those who stay behind the team no matter, displaying their passion towards the club through chants, banners etc, and not instigate violent behaviour. Those are Hooligans) because even though they hail from a small club & town, they are an example to the vast majority of other teams’ supporters. I really hope more similar groups from different clubs take a similar initiative. Still I find it hard to agree with you when saying that the Tarxien Ultras outclassed the Birkirkara Ultras. I watch repetition of matches for two reasons: to analyse the games and to listen to the atmosphere at the stadium, and I can assure everyone that, especially during the last 30 minutes when Tarxien were still leading 3-2, it was the Birkirkara Ultras together with other Birkirkara supporters who made all the noise, helping the team achieve a great comeback. I personally think this is just another attempt by you to lower the BU97′s colours after the group had politely declined your invite to take part in a TV program featuring supporters. I am sure that all those present at Hibs ground and others watching the game on TV know what the true facts are. Thanks

    Dear Sandro
Thanks for your good review on our support. Tarxien Rainbows are doing more firsts than any other team at the moment. first time in championship league first time in cup quarter finals first time we beat twice in a row our beloved neighbors Hibs.
A god team is only as good as those that support him feel! So tarxien rainbows are the best for sure at the moment, irrelevant of the titles other teams get.
By far we are the team of the league! We have nothing to loose only to gain ………… so bring them on
