Brandon Spiteri, an athlete from Team Noel, won a Boxing match in the first event of the year for this discipline.

It was the first time that Spiteri took part in Boxing, he usually competes in Kickboxing. The match was a 3×2 for the 77kg category against Craig Liptort, a Boxer from England.

Spiteri immediately came out on the attack and always responded to any action by the British. It was in the second round that Spiteri began hitting the British Boxer with hard techniques and gaining points. With his attacks Spiteri knocked down Liptort and even stopped him in the tracks which forced the referee to make the countdown twice. The third round was all in Spiteri hands and just continued collecting points. In the end it was a unanimous decision by the judges that gave the victory to Spiteri.

Spiteri has been training with Team Noel for the past five years and currently has Blue Belt. He has experience matches with K1 and Kickboxing rules both in the local and foreign scene. In 2013 he represented Malta in a K1 match in Northern Ireland. In March Spiteri will take part in the next edition of Gladiators Night in a “rematch” with Christopher Schembri.

Another Athlete from Team Noel Ying Yang, Daniel “the Jet” Zahra came second place in the evening dedicated to the sportsman of the year. He will also compete in March in a professional K1 match with an opponent from France.
