Team Greens will be holding their annual club race this Sunday at Xaghra, Gozo. The race which is part of the Malta Cycling Federation race calendar will feature a 4.5km circuit starting from the Xaghra centre down towards Rabat and back up from  Xaghra Hill. This circuit has never failed to offer a spectacle as it is tackled twelve times by the Elite riders. Team Greens start as favourites after winning the first two MCF races, This will also be their final preparatory race as they embark on their international race program with the Tour of Algeria four days later. Although locally cycling is portrayed as an individual sports, Team Greens is regarded as revolutionary in their approach to racing.  “In professional races the stronger you are together as a team  the better are your chances for success. Since we have taken the ambitious decision to race in professional competitions we had to adapt to the world of professional cycling and this has made us a stronger unit. This season we have already proved to be head and shoulders above our local competitors, we hope to sharpen up a bit more to hit our first major target of the season. The Tour of Malta explained Team Captain  Etienne Bonello. The Race in  Xaghra will be held in collaboration with the Xaghra Local Council, The Gozo Sports Council and Greyhounds Sports Club.  The event  will be sponsored by Greens Supermarket, BBB Bike parts, Buff Headwear and Quest Vitamins. Team Greens would like to inform the general public that the road leading to Xaghra from Victoria will be closed to traffic on Sunday from 9:30am to 12:00pm.
