Tarxien’s Carl Sammut tests positive for doping

Carl Sammut tested positive to a doping test on December 2nd in a game against Hamrun S.

Tarxien Rainbows’ FC player Carl Sammut has tested positive for doping after a test that was carried out on December 2nd 2011. The player has been informed along with his Club that he has been suspended with immediate effect. His suspension came in force from 31st January 2011. He tested positively after the game between Tarxien and Hamrun in the BOV Premier League 2011/12. Hamrun had won 3-1

In the meantime a player in a lower division, Steve Gatt of Gzira United, has been suspended for two years after he had refused to give his urine in a random doping test. He was asked to take the urine test on 16th January 2012 after a game that Gzira played against Zebbug but he refused. He has been suspended with immediate affect.
