BOV Premier League

With this years very interesting BOV Premier League encounters of late the fanatics and the supporters, even the neutral ones are looking at this match as the crux to deciding the outcome to the league title.

Here at sportinmalta.com we have argued and spoken about this match since last weekend and even though we did not have a conclusion to who might win or what is best for the teams there is somewhat an agreement that even though Valletta look to have the most strengthened squad in recent years, Birkirkara have two outcomes in their favour.

A draw and obviously a win for Birkirkara FC would be a massive boost. A tie could keep them more over in the lead with a cautious approach in their next matches. Whilst a win would propel them with four points to the top of the BOV Premier league table, probably some over-confidence would creep in. Paul Zammit will surely look at yesteryear and learn from what Mark Miller did to his squad. Hibernians stayed up front with the slimmest of margins to win the league with a draw against their direct contenders, then coached by Zammit, and win the title.

Caanen on the other hand must have heard about this but living through it is what this is all about and the Valletta fans know what it means to lose the league and the cup in two weeks. The somewhat arrogant Dutch coach will surely go out to win this match at all costs and probably mix his first eleven again after the mid week cup match which ended in extra time, something that he would have clearly avoided. A draw is evidently a result which will not satisfy the Valletta clan but at the same time it will not be the end of the league with five matches to go!

sportinmalta.com verdict? Draw.

What do the sportinmalta bloggers think?
