Ir-Refereeing Department tal-Malta FA organizza seminar ta’ tlett ijiem (mifrux fuq erbat ijiem) għall-uffiċjali promettenti kollha mill-kategoriji ż-żgħar u l-mentors tagħhom li bħalissa jiffurmaw parti mit-Talent & Mentor Program.

Wara s-suċċess tal-aħħar żewġ programmi, 2011-2013 u 2013-2015, tmien uffiċjali oħra qed jattendu għall-programm attwali li beda f’Ottubru 2015 u jiġi fi tmiemu f’Mejju 2017 – dawn huma Darryl Agius, Christopher Azzopardi, Shaun Calleja, Ivan Galea, Kieran Parnis, Dusan Petrovic, Daniel Portelli u Theodore Zammit.  Il-mentors tagħhom huma Philip Agius, Paul Caruana, Gaetano De Gabriele u Stephen Mallia.

Fis-seminar ġew ittrattati diversi temi bħal personalità, teamwork u kooperazzjoni, handball, u kif wieħed jaffronta sitwazzjonijiet maġġuri f’partita; iżda l-parti l-kbira tal-ħin kien iddedikat għall-analiżi tal-prestazzjonijiet tal-uffiċjali stess waqt il-logħbiet li kkontrollaw mill-UEFA Development Tournaments għas-subien u l-bniet li saru f’Malta ftit tax-xhur ilu, taħt l-osservazzjoni tar-Referee Observer Antonio P. Briguglio.

Il-koordinatur tas-seminar, l-Aġent Direttur tar-Refereeing Kevin Azzopardi, fakkar lill-parteċipanti li opportunità bħal din iġġib magħha responsabbiltà akbar li jpoġġu fil-prattika dak li jitgħallmu f’dawn it-tip ta’ seminars, kif ukoll li jassistu u jgħinu lil uffiċjali żgħażagħ fil-bidu tal-karrieri tagħhom.

MID-CYCLE SEMINAR FOR TALENT & MENTOR PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS – 3-6 JUNE 2016

The Malta FA Refereeing Department organized a three-day seminar (spread over four days) for all participants who at present form part of the Talent & Mentor Program. This is a two-year program through which promising match officials from the lower ranks are closely monitored by a mentor.

Following two successful similar programs between 2011 and 2013 and two years later, the current program which started in October 2015 and will end in May 2017, features eight match officials: Darryl Agius, Christopher Azzopardi, Shaun Calleja, Ivan Galea, Kieran Parnis, Dusan Petrovic, Daniel Portelli and Theodore Zammit. The participating mentors are Philip Agius, Paul Caruana, Gaetano De Gabriele and Stephen Mallia.

The seminar dealt with various topics such as personality, teamwork and cooperation, handball and the handling of key match situations; however, most of the time was dedicated to analyzing the participants’ own performances during the UEFA Development Tournaments for boys and girls that were held in Malta few months ago, under the guidance of Referee Observer Antonio P. Briguglio.

The seminar was coordinated by Acting Director of Refereeing Kevin Azzopardi, who reminded participants that such an opportunity brings along added responsibility to practice what is learnt during such seminars on the field of play, as well as to assist and support other up and coming young match officials.
