Swimming: Selection of Swimmers for International Competitions

The National Swimming Team will be participating in various international competitions over the next few months and Artem Goncharenko has selected the following swimmers to represent Malta:


17th Games of The Small States of Europe – San Marino: 29th May – 2 nd June 2017

Men: Jeremy Bugeja (Sirens); Andrew Chetcuti (Sirens); Matthew Galea (Sliema); Michael Stafrace (Sliema); Michael Umnov (Sirens); Thomas Wareing (Sliema); Matthew Zammit (Sirens).

Women: Mya Azzopardi (Neptunes); Francesca Falzon Young (Sirens); Alexandra McGonigle (Sirens); Amy Micallef (Neptunes); Leah Tanti (Sirens).

This is a FINA approved competition and as such swimmers may achieve a qualifying time for the World Championships during this meet.


COMEN Swimming Cup – Malta: 24th – 25th June 2017

Men: Kyle Buhagiar (Sirens); Dylan Cachia (Neptunes); Isaac Calleja (Sirens); Timothy Hansford (Neptunes); Andrea Mallia (Sirens); Rudi Spiteri (Sirens).

Women: Ella Calleja Rodgers (Sirens); Leah Tanti (Sirens); Martina Valletta (Neptunes).


LEN European Junior Swimming Championships – Netanya, Israel: 28th June – 2nd July 2017

Junior Commonwealth Games – Bahamas: 18th – 23rd July 2017
