Swimming 5km for 7 consecutive days for Inspire!

Thursday, April 28, 2011, 17:39

Keith Bartolo, a 35-year old open water long distance swimmer shall attempt a swimming distance of 5km daily for 7 days as part of Kinder Swimathon 2011, in a bid to raise funds for Inspire.

In order to understand the challenge Keith must face, one must keep in mind that swimming distance of 5km equates to swimming from Malta to Gozo daily. Moreover, he must do this for 7 consecutive days totaling to distance of swimming around the coast of Gozo. This will also prepare Keith for his next international event; Lake Zurich‘s 26km swimming race this coming August, ranked among the top ten swims in the world.

Help support Keith and other Kinder Swimathon participants by simply sending an sms with the text swimathon on following numbers: 50618926 for €6.99 or 50619215 for €11.65.

Kinder Swimathon 2011 will take place from 2nd May until 8th May 2011. For the second consecutive year Swimathon will take place at three locations, KMS National Swimming Pool at tal-Qroqq, MFA Pool at Ta’Qali and Inspire Indoor Swimming Pool at Inspire Marsascala.

Inspire is inviting all colleagues, schoolmates, friends and families to have fun whilst challenging each other and above all help Inspire raise the much needed funds for persons with a disability.

Funds can be raised through a minimum donation of €5 from each participant swimming one hour. Each participant may raise more funds through their friends and family by means of a simple sponsorship form which may be collected from the reception of each respective pool.
