Sergio Afric and Karl Izzo conducted yet another session ahead of Malta’s home qualifier against Turkey scheduled for this Tuesday at the National Pool.

The Malta National Waterpolo squad gathered at the Tal-Qroqq Pool at 10am on Sunday morning for what could be described as another fine tuning session and tactical preparation session to be in top form for this crucial game in front of the home crowd.

Sunday’s session which was also attended by the ASA President Joe Caruana Carran, consisted of a good warm up followed by an intensive swimming work for about twenty minutes. Passing and ball possession was next as Afric and Izzo followed closely from the deck.

“All players seem to be in good form and the atmosphere within the group is very good” commented Afric who is in his third year as National Team coach.

In the meantime the ASA will give a Press Conference tomorrow at noon ahead of the two international games that are scheduled against Turkey (Tuesday) and away against Poland (Friday).

Missing for Sunday’s morning session was Michele Stellini.

The below are the thirteen players selected for these two games.  David Cutajar, Sean Gravina, Matthew Pisani and Peter Borg did not make in the 13 men squad as it was also the case for Mark Meli (still in Canada) and John Brownrigg (injured).

The 13 men squad:

Alan Borg Cole, Niki Lanzon, Jerome Gabaretta, Paul Privitera, Timmy Sullivan, John Soler, Stevie Camilleri, Jordan Camilleri, Clint Debono, Karl Galea, Andrea Bianchi, Michele Stellini, Ryan Coleiro.
