Successful first international BMA competition held in Malta

Malta BMX hosted the first International BMX competition in Malta between the 5th and 8th of December at the newly opened indoor Skatepark in Pembroke, this was the first edition of this yearly event. Over the weekend a series of Competitions where hosted for both Local and Foreign BMX riders.

During the event, competitions such as Big Air, Bunny Hop and a Park Competition for Beginners, Amateurs and Pro where held. This was the first time in Malta BMX’s history that a Pro category was added in a BMX event. A Skateboarding competition was also held in the second part of the Indoor, which was officially opened to the public by Parliamentary secretary Chris Agius over the weekend. The Second part of the Indoor will cater for Skateboarders and for young children who would want to learn how to ride a BMX.

This successful event gave locals the chance to see six of the best BMX riders in the world and many local BMX riders had to chance to interact and ride with them. Pro riders Simon Tabron, Stefan Lantschner, Matt Roe, Sergio Layos, Daniël Wedemeijer and Alexander Rudenko all attended the event for the competition.
