Successful first day for Malta Ladies and Men teams in Ljubljana Slovenia.

The ladies started off early at 09.30 with a convincing but hard fought 3-0 game against Latvia. Colette Sultana won 3-0 against the Latvian number 1 seed. Evergreen Theresa Brousson (Camilleri) fought hard to win 3-2 against a girl 30 years younger. Johanna Rizzo started slowly loosing first game against Latvia s number 3 but fought back and convincingly won 3-1.

The men faced Romania in the afternoon. Brad Hindle Deguara leading the team this year won his game 3-0, Gary Nitchke and Daniel Zammit Lewis also won with the same score. Dean Gera in his Natiopal Team debut lost 3-2 in a hard fought match. Final result 3-1 for Malta

Ladies 2nd. Match was against island of Jersey . Colette Sultana was 2-1 up when the Jersey number 1 suffered an Achilles injury and had to retire . Theresa Brousson played a brilliant game winning 3-1 against seed number 2. Johanna Rizzo finished the day for Malta.
