Stomp your feet at the MIDI Sliema Wanderers Sports Complex

Sliema Wanderers is once again expanding the family with a special partner. In fact the Sports Complex will have a special team train all year round and housed at Tigne Point. The affiliation with the Stompers Rugby Team is the first of the sort since the club has opened the doors at the Midi Sliema Wanderers Sports Complex and surely more will follow suit.

Sliema Stompers R.F.C. are one of the main rugby clubs on the Island; having set up the first Maltese Rugby Youth Nursery in 2002, the Club has been consistently successful in local competitions and in feeding local talent to the Malta National Team.

A very enthusiastic Sliema Wanderers FC President Steve Abela was all smiles about this affiliation with Stompers. “In our sports expansion it was a natural step we had to take to invite a rugby team to base itself at the MIDI Sliema Wanderers sports Complex. As more sports will follow we continue to expand the complex and in the future our two indoor pitches will surely attract futsal, volleyball, basketball, handball, and other teams from the indoor sports arena to affiliate with a glorious club like Sliema Wanderers FC.”

It is certainly an honour for Stompers to be associated with Sliema Wanderers F.C. and being recognised as the locality’s rugby club. This gives Sliema Stompers access to excellent training facilities, office space and eventually a clubhouse, providing us with the necessary platform to grow the Club further and to strengthen our youth section.’ -  Antoine Bonello, Sliema Stompers Club President.
