Stephen Vella wins Greener Trap Selection

Stephen Vella was the overall winner of The Greener Trap Selection organized by The Malta Shooting Sport Federation at Bidnija. This competition was on 125 clays, 75 on Saturday afternoon and 50 on Sunday morning with the best six to qualify for a barrage final of another 25 clays.

Matthew Bussuttil was the only shooter that managed a straight of 25/25 throughout the weekend with bad weather conditions.

The first places had to be determined after two shoot off for the 1st and 2nd places and the 3rd and 4th place.

Stephen Vella placed 1st with 101+17=118+s/off+3

Anthony Sammut placed 2nd with 103+15=118+s/off+2

Jeffery Pisani placed 3rd with 99+18=117+s/off+2


Silvio Attard placed 4th with 98+19=117+s/off+1

Paul Vella placed 5th with 100+14=114

Nicky Carabott placed 6th with 96+17=113

Class A 1st Jeffery Pisani 44/50, 2nd Stephen Vella 43/50, 3rd Nazzareno Attard 41/50

Class B 1st Silvio Attard 43/50, 2nd Carmel Mallia 41/50, 3rd Matthew Busuttil 37/50.

Class C 1st Emmanuel Saliba 35/50, 2nd Romeo Cassar , 3rd George Grech 34/50.

The Malta Shooting Sports Federation would like to thank the Ghaqda Kittieba Sports and The KMS for awarding Maltese Double Trap shooter William Chetcuti as The Sportsman of The Year 2011 for the eight year and Nathan Lee Xuereb as The Junior Sportsman. The MSSF is also proud that their coach Jimmy Bugeja was amoung the finalists for the Official of The Year.
