Stefan Giglio strolling along in the park or Ta Qali?

When Qormi signed Giglio in January they made a big deal out of it but is he worth all that money? Since he came back to Malta from Hungary Giglio surely struggled to make an impact in the Maltese football scene.

Against Valletta which incidentally is still his club, he seemed as if he was not in the mood to play! Definitely not the professional attitude one is to expect from a player which is making his bread and butter from football.

During the match he rarely was in the thick of the action, his passing was dreadful and never managed to click with both Joseph Farrugia and Massimo Grima, let alone giving a pass to Effiong and Camilo. During freekicks or corners, which Qormi seldom had during the first half, he was never present when usually it is his forte to pick up loose balls and turn them into goals.

It took 70 minutes for Assistant coach Jesmond Zerafa to notice that he was playing with a handicap and introduced Duncan Pisani instead of the frustrated Giglio who was surely more interested in planning his evening rather than the match. Pisani immediately had an impact on the match with his fast runs and overlaps on the wing wreaked havoc in the Valletta defence, and created half chances for the Qormi foreign attackers.
