Thirty two year old Stefan Giglio joined his cousin Justin Grioli at Tarxien Rainbows after he agreed a two year deal with the Blues. The ex Lokomotiv Sofia midfielder attended his first training session today under the guidance of coach Noel Coleiro.

This will be the fourth Maltese club for Giglio as he also starred for Valletta, Sliema and Qormi. The former Player of the Year rejected a late Mosta offer which he was to close thanks to Jeffrey Farrugia.

Things got a strange twist and he opted for Tarxien.

This site can reveal that Giglio was very happy at Qormi with coach Stephen Azzopardi, but a person close to the committee told Giglio that the Club has financial problems recurrent from last season and he would not get paid the sum he was due in the next two months. After a meeting, held with Club President Apap, both parties agreed that Giglio would join another team and his transfer fee would be credited from the money he was due from Qormi. It is said that Giglio was due some EUR10,000 from last season.

In the meantime in a bid to restore tranquility at Qormi and to try and minimize as much as possible the dues from last season some familiar faces of the Fenech family will summon Redino Apap for a meeting  and will inject some cash prior the start of the season.

It is a pity that QFC and Stefan Giglio had to part ways! His experience, dedication and solid defending were instrumental to avoid relegation last season. Wishing you the best of luck with your new team.
