The youngsters from St Andrew were the better outfit during the game as they created much more occasions than Paola and fully deserved the verdict. Following this game St Andrew are in 6th position on 13 points from 8 games while Paola are in 7th position on 10 points also from 8 games.
The game was only two minutes old when St Andrew opened the score as Neil Pace Cocks served Mike Vella with a throuhg ball who after entering the area scored with a low shot past Paola keeper Rudy Briffa.
Paola monuted two actions in a row. St Andrew defender Matthew Laferla handled the ball in his own half and Luke Galdes drove over the bar from the free kick, and Jurgen De Gabriele was fouled outside the area and the same player drove over the bar from the free kick.
The respomse by St andrew was very immediate and they mounted four actions in a row. Zack Scerri served Mike Vella on the right flank and a defender cleared the ball to a corner. Laferla served Vella in the area and his shot was cleared to a corner. Scerri served Benjamin on the right flank and Briffa neutralised the ball from his cross and the same player served Max Thake in the area and the ball missed the upright from his shot.
In the 27th minute St Andrew increased their lead when Pace Cocks was fouled outside the area and the same player scored with a hard rising shot from the resultant free kick and four minutes later the same player scores a third goal with a low shot from inside the area after he was put through by Vella.
the first action after restart was created by Paola as Jean C Annati served De Gabriele on the right flank and a defender cleared the ball to a corner, and in the first action by St Andrew Scerri served Benjamin Zahra on the right flank, he then crossed the ball to Vella in the area but he failed to apply the killer touch from a very ideal position.
Paola H then won a corner kick on the right flank which was well-taken by De Gabriele and St Andrew keeper Jake Galea was forced to palm the ball away to safety, and minutes later Matthew Camilleri served Aron Hili in the area and his header missed the bar by inches with Galea beaten.
The Paolites kept trying and they mounted two other actions. Joseph Mbong was fouled outside the area and Galea saved the free kick shot by De Gabriele and Camilleri served Olsel Giordano with a through ball and Galea seaved his effort from outside the area.
The last action before the end came from St Andrew. Thake served Ryan Sammut with a cross from the right and Hibs substitute keeper Mikhail Sciberras denied with a diving save to a corner which was taken by Pace Cocks and Sciberras saved a header by Adam Azzopardi with another diving save.
