Sliema Wds Reunion of Quadruple Crown winning team

Sliema Wanderers Football Club are proud to announce that a reunion of the team that won the QUADRUPLE CROWN for the third time in the club’s history in season 1964/65 is being held at the club’s premises in Tower Road, Sliema on Sunday, 27th April.


The Quadruple Crown was made up of the :


JOHNNY WALKER CUP (1st Division Championship)


F.A.Trophy     -       Independence Cup        -           Testaferrata Cup


The first time that Sliema Wanderers won the Quadruple Crown was in 1923 / 24 and the feat was achieved for a second time in season 1955/5 5.


Fifteen players survive from a squad of eighteen players that won the Quadruple Crown and it is hoped that the majority of them will be present for the Reception together with the surviving Committee members.


It is also hoped that we will have all four trophies on display.


Members are invited to attend the reception which is being held on :


Sunday – 27th April at the club premises in Tower Road, Sliema from 10.30a.m.


A donation of €5 per person to cover the costs of the event will be appreciated.


Past Committee Members and Players are invited to attend to celebrate the occasion.

Members of the general public and all football supporters are also welcome.
