Sliema Wanderers intensifying transfers campaign

After president Keith Perry announced the arrival of new coach Clive Mizzi on you tube, the Blues are in talks with Mqabba duo Branislav Timotic and Marco Potezica.

The foreign duo played a massive part in Mqabba campaign this season although thay suffered a last day relegation.

Striker Bojan Mamic is also on Sliema Wanderers’ radar after he failed with a bid last January. The 30 year old scored 15 goals for Mqabba. Some foreign clubs are also showing interest in the former Ferencvárosi Torna Club.

Sliema Wanderers also held talks with former midfielder Joseph Farrugia, currently on the books of Qormi FC. The 31 year old confirmed this interest on Malta’s most viewed sports programme, Kontrattakk, on Sunday, although first he will speak with his current club.

The Blues are also set to offer new contract to youngsters John Mintoff and Miguel Ciantar after being shipped away last season by former president Steve Abela. Finally the Sliema Wanderers president is considering bringing back former midfielder cum striker Ivan Woods as his contract ends after the commitments of the Europa League with his current club Floriana.

    I hope ivan woods will opt to stay another season with Floriana despite all the current rumours surrounding the club. He is still an asset to our squad and would be a pity to let him go. Keep the faith greens!
