Sliema Wanderers appoint new technical staff following new Italian investment

Sliema Wanderers Football Club have issued a press statement to announce that the Committee has accepted the resignation of Coach Clive Mizzi, Physical Trainer Renzo Kerr Cumbo and the keepers coach. The Club said that all the committee would like to thank them for their services.

The new full time technical staff will be headed by Sports Director Roberto Causio while the Coach will be Alfonso Greco. The Club is in the process of selecting a new assistant coach, physical trainer and goalkeepers coach. Amongst others Mr. Causio has served as part of the technical staff at the FIGC (Italian football federation) for  a number of years. Mr. Greco is a former professional player having played in the Italian Serie A with Lazio and Cagliari. He then went on to play for a number of clubs in Serie B and C. He has coached at inter-regional level and has just obtained his A License from the Technical Centre of the italian Football Federation based in Coverciano, Florence.

Causio and Greco will meet the players today and Alfonso Greco will be holding his first training session this evening. They will be introduced to the press and the general public next week.

The very positive development at the Club was only possible with the help of a new strategic partnership which will be announced in the next weeks.
