Two Sliema Aquatic Sports Club youths, Mark Fenech and Nicholas Bugelli, are currently undergoing an intensive Winter-long water polo training camp in Budapest, Hungary. The boys embarked on this adventure back in September, where they joined the ranks of club OSC Ujbuda, who currently lie in second place in the Hungarian top division.

Both players are undergoing multiple training sessions daily with the club’s senior squad under the guidance of Coach Vincze Balazs. Bugelli and Fenech expressed their gratitude towards the Sliema Club for making this experience possible. ‘Training at such intensity with so many world champions is more than a dream come true’, said Bugelli. ‘We can only repay the faith shown by our club Sliema by making the best out of this opportunity and train hard to become better players’.

In addition to the training, Fenech is also representing OSC’s B team, while Bugelli is participating in the youth league. During their limited free time they are also receiving private tuition to help them better understand the Hungarian language as well as the country’s rich culture. The boys are expected to spend Christmas in Malta, following which they will return to Hungary until May of next year.
