Sliema ASC players in second place in Hungary

Two Sliema ASC water polo youths, Mark Fenech and Nicholas Bugelli, have ended their Winter-long training experience in Hungary on a positive note, having helped their club, OSC Budapest, finish in second place in the Hungarian Under 19 League. With clubs being only allowed to field one foreigner for any particular match, the Sliema boys had to alternate between them for a place in the squad throughout the league. Fenech helped OSC beat Honved in the penultimate match of the season, while Bugelli was in the side that defeated UVSE in the final game on Sunday.

The young athletes will continue to train with the Hungarian Club’s first team till mid-May, before they rejoin local club Sliema Frank Salt Real Estate in time for the Summer League. Their experience was made possible as part of the club’s commitment to provide its youths with training at the very top level. Sliema ASC is currently receiving applications for its Summer Swimming and Water Polo Nursery. Contact : darren@sliema-asc.org.mt
