Following a well attended Annual General Meet held at Sliema Pitch at the end of October, Sliema Aquatic Sports Club elected a new committee for season 2012/2013.

A most notable absent name amongst the long list of candidates was that of Tony Psaila who decided not to contest the election after thirty-six consecutive years of sterling service to the club committee, thirty-three of which as secretary. Tony Psaila served under three different Presidents and helped in no uncertain manner to stir the club on to a record number of successes during his tenure both in and out of the pool. His place in the committee will be borne by newcomer Darren Saliba who will have the unenviable task of replacing him as Hon. Secretary.

Michael Gatt who was re-elected as President of the club said that ‘Tony’s knowledge, experience and driving force will be sorely missed and I do not envy the challenge our new secretary will face in his initial year. On behalf of the committee and members I would like to thank Tony for his dedication and commitment to the club over such a long period of time’.
