Sirens Swimpolo Nursery at the Annual Swimming Championships

Tuesday, July 24, 2012, 15:10

Sirens Swimpolo Nursery competed at the annual swimming championships hosted at Tal-Qroqq National Pool between the 19th and 21st July 2012.

The National Championships was open to all members including the development squad swimmers, the competitive squad and also the masters and waterpolo players.  All Sirens swimmers  put in a fantastic effort and the results obtained were evidence of this.

A total of  35 swimmers took part. Personal best times were recorded for 75% of all swims. Some races proved to be exciting close finishes with millisecond differences between the winners. Apart from all these personal  bests which help motivate and boost our swimmers motivation,  the clubs up and coming promising swimmer Jeremy Bugeja won a total of 10 medals!

A huge thank you goes to all the parents & volunteers who stepped forward to fill the many roles needed to run the Championships and made it such a great success for all.  Sirens swim team will now enjoy a well deserved break including a day at the splash and fun park and a boat party!!

Sirens Swimpolo committee are grateful towards coach Daniela Deguara for all the effort, dedication and professional work she showed throughout the hard preparation for this event. I think the future is really bright for us now with two coaches as Davina Mangion committed her future with coaching only.

A special thanks to all Sirens swimmers for the great team spirit & sportsmanship that they showed.
