BOV K.O. Premier – S/F 1

Sirens Ritter Sport    9        Sliema McDonalds    11

(3-3, 1-3, 1-1, 4-4)

Sirens are still in with a shout, after their first semi final, when they twice came back from a four goal deficit, to cut down their arrears. Sliema were always in front, but they failed most of their man ups, converting two from six. Sirena managed to score in five of their ten extra player occasions.

The opening session ended all square, after a two goal Sliema advantage. The second period was decisive, as Sliema opened up their lead once more, and with their goalie, Istvan Gergely saving a Csaba Kiss penalty, thye Blues went in at the interval on a 6-4 advantage.

Sliema were wasteful after the break, and this permitted the St. Paul’s Bay side to share the spoils in a low score session. In the final period Sliema seemed on the right track, when they twice opened up a four goal cushion, but late strikes from Alex Attard had Sirens drawing nearer once again.

Ferenc Salamon scored a hat trick for Sliema, whilst Csaba Kiss grabbed a poker of goals, desplite the missed penalty, and Alex attard helped himself to a hat trick.
