Seven point lead for Valletta as Hibs fall apart

Valletta have regained their seven point lead on Monday as they won against Hibernians 2-0 with a goal in each part of the game.

Jesmond Zerafa welcomed back in his 18 man squad Caruana and Falzon, who missed the White’s last game, whilst Miller and Lufi could not utilize Ritchie Hart who was suspended and both Ryan Camilleri and Triston Caruana who are still injured.

Valletta were superior all throughout the game by dictating the play from the very first minute. The Paolites were quite organized in their defensive play with a 4-1-4-1 formation in the first minutes of the game.

Just after twenty minutes Denni Rocha Dos Santos put Valletta in front with a header from a Sammut free kick. The Brazilian could not continue to play as he injured himself on the occasion of the goal after hitting his head heavily on the ground.

Valletta assured themselves of the three points seven minutes from the start of the second half with a Terence Scerri strike totaling now his personal goals of the season to eight.

With this win Valletta extend their unbeaten run whilst Hibernians keep on falling apart with yet another defeat, the fifth one this season.
