The Malta Sports Journalists Association will be organizing a seminar in sports journalism with the collaboration of the Tumas Fenech Foundation for Education in Journalism.
This seminar will be held between Wednesday 31st August and Thursday 1st September, 2011, as from 17:15hrs onwards and will take place at the Hilton Hotel Malta in St. Julian’s. This year’s event is expected to be completely different from the previous seminars organized by the same Association, as the sessions shall be addressed by experienced lecturers involved directly or indirectly in sport.
Detailed information about this distinctive seminar was revealed at a Press Conference held earlier this morning.
The seminar is open to all sports journalists including non-paid up members of the Association. The Institute of Maltese Journalism and the FTFEG are also invited to participate in the seminar as observers.
The course will be inaugurated by his Excellency President Emeritus Dr. Ugo Mifsud Bonnici on Wednesday 31st August, at 17:15hrs. An introduction speech by the President and the General Secretary of Malta Sports Journalists Association will follow before the commencement of the first lectures.
Speakers for this two day seminar include; Mr Pierre Cassar (CEO of the Malta Broadcasting Authority), Mr Mario Schiavone (Member of the Institute of Maltese Journalism), Dr. Peter Fenech (Lawyer and ex MFA Vice President), Mr. Olvin Vella and Mr. Keith Attard (from Il-Kunsill Nazzjonali tal-Ilsien Malti )and two Italian journalists.
The Malta Sport Journalists Association announced that the Italian personalities who will be coming over are Mr. Italo Cucci (Sports commentator and renowned controversial analyst of RAI Sport) and Sport journalist and commentator of live Italian Serie A matches Mr. Massimo Tecca of SKY Sports Italia.
His Excellency Mr. Tony DeBono (Secretary of the Tumas Fenech Foundation for Journalism Education) together with Mr. Charles Camenzuli and Mr. Sandro Micallef (President and Secretary of the Sports Journalists Association respectively) will be coordinating the event.
