San Gwann resumed with their positive run and they lead the standings on maximum points from 14 games and they are on their way for promotion to
Section A next season. Zebbug are on 21 points also from 14 games.
The first action was created by Zebbug when Luca Zammit was fouled on the right flank and after the free kick by Kurt Tanti created havoc in San Gwann’s area a defender cleared the ball to a corner.
San Gwann reacted by mounting two actions.Samuel Vella served Jan Tanti with a short pass from a corner kick and Zebbug keeper Neville Hili saved his shot to a corner and Benjamin Micallef served Alessio Magro with a square pass who then crossed to Tanti and he missed the upright from outside the area.
In the 13th minute San Gwann opened the score as Tanti served Magro with a cross in the area and he scored with a hard low drive.
In another action by Zebbug, Lee Cuschieri served Mathew Camilleri with a square passand he drove over the bar from outside the area.
San Gwann then resumed with their pressing and mounted two further actions.  tanti released Vella on the left flankwho then served Dick Zerafa with a cross and he drpve over the bar when well-paced in the area and the same player then floated a perfect high ball in the area from a free kick and Vella failed to apply the killer touch with only Hili to beat.
Two minutes before the break San Gwann doubled their lead when Vella dribbled past an opponent and after entering the area he scored with a hard rising shot.
Very few were the actions worthy of note after the resumption as San Gwann created only four actions and two actions were created by Zebbug
Tanti served Glenn bonnici with a cross from the right and his hard shot was blocked by a defender, at the other end, Luca Zammit pounced on a faulty clearance and after entering the area he drove out with only San Gwann keeper Andreas Vella to beat, and in another action by Zebbug Matthew Camiller controlled a loose ball outside San Gwann’s area and the ball wass cleared to a corner following his shot.
In the 56th minute San Gwann were awarded a penalty when Kurt Tanti handled the ball in the area to block a shot by Jan Tanti. Magro took charge of the spot kick and Hili dived and partly saved his shot and the ball was cleared away to safety.
San Gwann then created the last two actions before the end. Tanti was fouled just outside the area and from the same player’s free kick Hili dived and turned the ball to a corner and in their last action they were deD.cilianied by the wood work when the ball thumped the bar from a shot by Magro after he was put through by Vella.
