Roberto Demicoli to participate in the Arena European Masters Swimming Championships

Birkirkara St. Joseph’s open water swimmer Roberto Demicoli will be participating in this year’s edition of the Arena European Masters Swimming Championships in Eindhoven. These championships will be organized between the 31st August and the 8th September 2013.

The best in the world of Masters Swimming, Diving, Synchro and Open Water Swimming will be participating in these championships which will be held in the Pieter van den Hoogenband Zwemstadion. However, the open water race which consists of a straight 3Km swim will be held in the “Het Eindhovens Kanaal” on Saturday 7th September at 10:00 a.m.

Roberto Demicoli is a regular competitor in the Birkirkara St. Joseph Open Water Swimming Championships and was one of the six swimmers who last year swam around the Gozitan coast for 14 continuous hours. He was crowned open water swimming champion twice in 2009 and 2010 and ranked 1st in the Masters category in the last years. This year he finished second in the championships and third in the 11-kilometre Malta-Gozo-Malta Swim.

In his preparation for this European competition, the Birkirkara St. Joseph swimmer is currently undergoing an intensive training schedule.
