Regatta rower Joseph Flask has been suspended for two years for an anti-doping rule violation.

The Anti-Doping Commission said Birzebbugia rower and 2008 Regatta champion Joseph Flask had returned an adverse analytical finding for Clenbuterol in a urine sample provided on 31 March 2012 during the March Regatta.

This substance is included on the World Anti-Doping Prohibited List 2012 under the anabolic agents category and is consequently prohibited under the Malta Anti-Doping Rules.

In accordance with national legislation and the WADA Code, Flask will serve a two-year suspension for the offence beginning on 10th May 2012, the day he was provisionally suspended until the case was heard, through to 10th May 2014.

All results obtained by Joseph Flask from the date of competition on the 31st March 2012 and onwards will be disqualified including forfeiture of any medals, points and prizes.

Joseph Flask is ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport organisation registered with the Kunsill Malti g─žall-Isport.
